FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our organization is inclusive of all ages, genders, races , and school years— everyone is encouraged to apply! Although we are a business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi is open to students of all majors. Professionalism is demanded in all industries.

  • Alpha Kappa Psi is the best way to get involved on campus. You will not only develop professionally, but you will also gain lifelong friendships. Whether it’s attending weekly brotherhood events or study sessions on Dean’s Patio, you will gain access to a social circle of like-minded individuals and a strong support system as you navigate your college career. Our unique organization allows brothers to build professional skills, obtain leadership opportunities, connect with our international alumni network, and so much more.

  • Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional business fraternity. Unlike other Greek organizations on campus which are socially-oriented, we focus on professional development through workshops, events, networking mixers and more. Yet, just like the social organizations, we coordinate social events and participate in volunteer activities on and off campus. If you are involved with a social fraternity or sorority already, you can still rush Alpha Kappa Psi!

  • Alpha Kappa Psi is interested in highly-motivated individuals who embody our core values: integrity, service, brotherhood, knowledge, and unity. We like to see students who demonstrate leadership, passion, authenticity, but most importantly, we want applicants who are willing to grow as both a student and a business leader. The focus is not on perfection but on your potential to grow and make an impact both within the ASU community and beyond.

  • Yes, Alpha Kappa Psi currently has a healthy mix of members who belong to other Greek organizations and those who do not; however, it is important to realize that Alpha Kappa Psi is a large time commitment, particularly during pledgeship, that cannot be overlooked.

  • We highly encourage everyone to rush again if they do not receive a bid the first time around and truly want to join Alpha Kappa Psi. There is absolutely no penalty for rushing again; in fact, many members in our fraternity have rushed multiple times

  • Our pledge process is designed to challenge and test individuals for personal and professional growth. The pledging process is about eight weeks long. Each week, you will attend a pledge meeting where you engage in professional development and learn more about Alpha Kappa Psi. During this time, you will also be required to complete interviews with some of our active brothers. Additionally, you will work with the rest of your pledge class to put on a large-scale service event for a charity that our chapter partners with. As long as you can manage your time properly, pledging is a great experience that complements your academic life well.

  • No. Alpha Kappa Psi has strict policies against hazing.

A LETTER FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF RECRUITMENT

Dear Prospective Rushee,

Thank you for your interest in Alpha Kappa Psi.  We are a professional co-ed business fraternity on Arizona State University campus that is open to all majors and years.  We welcome you to take the next step and spend more time getting to know us. The best ways are to attend our rush events, browse our social media and website, and talk with brothers.

You will find that we are a close knit community dedicated to the foundational pillars of brotherhood, unity, service, knowledge, and integrity. With these core values, Alpha Kappa Psi has built a global network of brothers, active and alumni, who are responsible for shaping the fields in which they are experts.

We have something for everyone from professional workshops, intramural sports teams, guest speakers and sponsors, extraordinary campus events and brotherhood socials.  We create a vibrant, diverse community that remains intimate because of its small size, yet contains a large network of resources and information. If you are excited to maintain and grow your network and gain professional knowledge on certain business dress codes, expectations, and even mock interview questions, Alpha Kappa Psi might just be the place for you.

I invite you to share your own time, perspective, and talents with the brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi, throughout Arizona, and around the world.

The recruitment team is dedicated to helping you do all of this and more! We are here to answer questions about our experience in Alpha Kappa Psi as well as help navigate the rush application. I invite you to read more about our organization and get to know the many resources and opportunities that Alpha Kappa Psi offers to you.

Best wishes for an extraordinary ASU experience, and Go Sun Devils!
