Message From Our Director Of Recruitment
Dear Prospective Rushee,
Hi! My name is Moses Adams, I am the current Director of Recruitment for Spring 2020 and I would love to be the first to welcome you to the Iota Xi chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi here at Arizona State University. If you are reading this that means that you have an interest in joining the oldest and largest professional fraternity in the United States! As the premier developer of principled business leaders, we believe and seek to live by the values of Brotherhood, Knowledge, Integrity, Service, and Unity in our thoughts, actions, and words. We have built our network of brothers with the foundation of these core values and strive to better ourselves in current and future interactions.
When I joined Alpha Kappa Psi I was looking to step out of my comfort zone and do something new that would push me to be better. I understood that as a person we are all the culmination of those who we surround ourselves with and I wished to surround myself with like-minded individuals who wanted to be the best version of themselves both personally and professionally. This was one of the best decisions that I could’ve made as a college student.
Through my experiences in Alpha Kappa Psi I have developed valuable leadership skills and have been presented with opportunities I would never have imagined and met some of best friends in the process. Rushing Alpha Kappa Psi could do the same for you!
If you are at all interested in joining the Arizona State University Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, I encourage you to come to our recruitment events, meet and mingle with our active Brothers and ask questions on topics you hope to learn more about! Regardless of your major, class standing or outside interests, we encourage you to come check us out.
Join us and learn what Alpha Kappa Psi could mean for you. I hope to see you at this semester’s recruitment events! Please feel free and reach out with any questions or concerns.

Why Alpha Kappa Psi?
Alpha Kappa Psi is an amazing way to get involved on campus, and not only gain professional skills, but lifelong friendships. Our professional development opportunities allow our brothers to build the skills needed for the workforce, and connects them to our international alumni network, opening up potential job opportunities. We have multiple leadership opportunities within the active chapter for our brothers to take on, to develop lifelong skills, and get involved in the fraternity
What makes Alpha Kappa Psi different from other Greek Organizations?
Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional business fraternity, unlike other Greek organizations on campus which are social fraternities and sororities. We focus on professional development through workshops, events, networking mixers and more. Yet just like the social organizations, we also coordinate social events and participate in volunteer activities on and off campus. If you are involved with a social fraternity or sorority already, you can still rush Alpha Kappa Psi!
What is the Rush Process like?
Recruitment includes a Rush week, online application, and bid interview. Rush week consists of five social events for you to come, meet our brothers, and see if Alpha Kappa Psi is a good fit for you. There will be an online application followed by a bid interview. By signing up for our Fall 2019 Newsletter you will be provided with reminders about Rush events and how to prepare for them!
What is the pledging process like?
The pledge process is about eight weeks long and consists of one meeting a week and a completion of a certain amount of interviews with our active brothers. Additionally, pledges work together with the rest of their pledge class to put on a Picnic for the Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents throughout the semester. Our pledge process is designed to challenge and test individuals for professional and personal growth. As long as you can manage your time properly, pledging is a great and fun experience.
What does Alpha Kappa Psi look for in a potential candidate?
Alpha Kappa Psi is interested in highly motivated individuals who strive to better themselves. We like to see students who show characteristics of leadership, passion, and individuality and who are motivated to add value and growth to our chapter. The focus is not on perfection but on your potential to grow and make an impact.
Do you have to attend all recruitment events in order to qualify for membership?
No. If you can’t make it to any of the rush events, we will encourage you to apply! We understand that individuals have other priorities such as work, school, or personal matters. Although it is not required, we recommend our prospective members to take advantage of the events we host during rush week to see if Alpha Kappa Psi is a good fit. Coming to our recruitment events is a great way to show the brothers the interest you have in joining our fraternity!
Who can Rush AKPsi?
All undergraduate students at ASU with at least two academic semesters left and at least a 3.0 GPA are welcome to apply! We encourage students of all majors to rush for a chance to develop themselves professionally and join our brotherhood.
Is there hazing?
No. Alpha Kappa Psi has strict policies against hazing. The events with pledges and active brothers are meant to build upon our five core values: Brotherhood, Unity, Service, Integrity, and Knowledge.
